Spot-facing
Spot-facing (SF) holes produce a round spot or surface around the top of
another hole typically at 1/16-inch depth. This is often done to provide a
bearing surface or to embed washers or t-nuts.
Specify the spot-faced area.
Identify the diameter of the spot-faced hole. Hole depth is often left to the
discretion of the worker, but -you may specify either the depth or remaining
thickness of the material.
Figure 3-34 is an example of a spot-faced hole.
