Mounting, ContinuedCold press(Continued)To use rubber cement or an aerosol rubber cement, use this table:StepAction1Cut out the artwork to correct size.2Use a nonreproducing blue pencil to lightly mark the position ofthe artwork on the mounting board.3Apply rubber cement or spray adhesive to the face of the mountingboard within the area defined by the pencil marks and the back ofthe artwork.45Allow the cement to dry.Place a slip sheet of paper or tracing paper over the cement coveredsurface of the mounting board leaving approximately 1/4-inchexposed at the top. Use two slip sheets when mounting largepieces and slide them out from the center.6Position the artwork face up and firmly press against the top (orcenter).7Slowly slide the slip sheet out of the way while smoothing theartwork against the mounting board. Smooth from the center of theartwork to the edges.8Place a clean paper or tracing paper over the image and continue toburnish the image into place with an agate burnisher or rubberroller until it is secure.9Use a rubber cement pick-up (crepe laytex) to remove excesscement and cement residue.Continued on next page2-28
