Sharpening a
pencil
The shape of the pencil lead defines the textural quality and the stroke width
of the line you draw. A pencil lead may be conical, elliptical, chiseled,
beveled left or right, or flat in shape. Softer leads require sharpening more
often than hard leads. Three sharpeners used to sharpen pencil leads are
regular office sharpeners, draftsmans sharpeners, and sandpaper pads.
