Use a nonreproducible blue pencil for layout workintended for black-and-white reproduction. Most black-and-whitephotographic films are blind to the light sky-blue color and will not record iton the negative. Nonreproducing lithographic pencils are dark violet incolor. Used on a lithographic plate, this pencil will not appear in the finishedproduct. Waxed-based leaded pencils, sometimes called china markers, comein a variety of colors and are capable of marking on glass, plastic, and metalsurfaces.2-63
