Polygonal Construction, Continued Triangles You may use an alternate method of constructing triangles if triangles and (Continued) protractors are not available. To draw an equilateral triangle using an alternate method of construction, use this table: Step Action 1 Draw straight line AB the length of the base of your equilateral triangle. 2 Using the length of AB as a radius, strike an arc with A and with B as a center. 3 4 These arcs will intersect at C. Draw straight lines from A to C and B to C to complete the triangle. Figure 2-39 illustrates the process for constructing an equilateral triangle with an alternate method.
