Letter Strokes, ContinuedPracticeletteringstrokesThe carpenter’s pencil is the ideal tool to practice the solid stroke of thegothic alphabet, the thick-and-thin strokes of the roman-style alphabet, andscript letters. Sharpen the carpenter’s pencil to a square chisel point. Sitcomfortably with your work directly in front of you. Do not twist or turnyour hand as the strokes turn. There are six basic lettering strokes thatcombine to form all letters.
